（二）从荆州来看，10年变化不寻常，发展动力更强，信心更足。最显著的变化是综合实力大幅提升。2011年全市地区生产总值1043亿元，。全社会固定资产投资达到774亿元，。，。：：：：，%提升为43%。最明显的变化是城乡面貌不断改善。全市10年累计投入城市建设资金80亿元，中心城区建成区面积由47平方公里扩大到75平方公里。10年间新增等级公路总里程12500公里（其中高速公路163公里，多为通村公路），新建两座长江大桥，汉宜铁路通车，荆岳铁路、江南高速、洪监高速、荆松一级公路相继开工。成功创建全国双拥模范城市、国家园林城市、全国综合治理优秀城市。累计向上争取资金140亿元投入新农村建设，试点覆盖全市农村人口的一半以上。最可喜的变化是城乡居民收入稳步增长。农民人均纯收入由2001年的2303元提高到2011年的7664元，%。城镇居民人均可支配收入由2001年的5523元提高到2011年的16513元，%。最突出的变化是社会民生事业加快发展。财政向民生、社会事业10年累计支出478亿元，%。，累计解决农村175万人的饮水安全问题。中心城区10年累计建设保障性住房11301万套，发放廉租房货币补贴10495户。最深刻的变化是干部思想观念、工作作风明显改变。全市各级干部群众不再怨天尤人、妄自尊大，以加快发展为己任，勇于担当、迎难而上，知耻后勇、奋发图强。尤其省委、省政府强力推进壮腰工程、加快荆州振兴
