Abstract: Place names are the proper names of a particular spatial location entrusted by the people about the natural or human geographical object. Place names are generally named after the local ethnic groups, so the place names have grumous characteristics of national culture. The place names of the Dong People’s residence contain colorful cultural elements, which is an indispensable and important part of the culture of the Dong Minority. By the study of the names of the Dong people, we can know about the geographical features, the status of economic development and cultural attributes and so on. The purpose of this paper is to explore the cultural implication and analyze the structural characteristics of the place names of the Dong Minority, further deepening the understanding of the long-standing ethnic culture of the Dong minority.
