Research and Practice of Case Teaching in the Course of Mechanical Optimal Design

Abstract: The characteristics of Mechanical Optimal Design and the function of case teaching are introduced, and the
problems in the teaching of Mechanical Optimal Design are analyzed. The applications of case teaching to Mechanical
Optimal Design are discussed from the aspects of case selection, case presentation, case analysis, case solution and
case summarization. Case teaching can inspire the students’ interest, broaden their scopes of creative thinking, and
strengthen their abilities of engineering practice.
