3D modeling and finite element analysis on dynamic character-
istics of wind turbine blade

Abstract: According to the theoretical basis based on the fundamental equation of structural dy-
namics, a wind turbine blade was treated as a free suspended beam which was entirely fixed on the
root. Then the physical and mathematic model of wind turbine blades were built. Blades were Mod-
eled in the AutoCAD, the blades of the practical 15 kW wind turbine were used as example. With
the aid of FEA software ALGOR, the model of blades were analyzed on the vibration modes which
were under irrotating and different rotational speeds. Natural frequencies and mode shapes were
calculated. A
