1 (a) The four elements might include
– Objectives of the project
– Scope of the project
–Constraints applying to the project
– The sponsor or customer of the project
– The resources available to the project
(b) (i) Four of these elements are considered below:
Objectives of the project
The objectives of the project define why the project has missioned in the first place. For example, the objective
might be to ‘develop and deliver pany-wide claims handling system’. Many objectives contain the criteria for
pletion, so that it is clear when the project is finished. It is important that the objectives are clearly
understood at the start of the project, otherwise the project team can be confused about the purpose of the work they
are doing. The objectives also help to define the scope of the project (see below).
Scope of the project
The scope of the project is often defined in a set of deliverables or activities that are required to meet the project’s
objectives. For example:
– Document the claims handling system at the Cardiff, Bristol and Liverpool offices.
