A 3-year-old boy who was lost in the woods for two days is now safe at home with his family. But Casey Hathaway told his rescuers(救援者)that he was not alone in the rainy, freezing cold woods. He said he was with a friend—a bear.
The child went missing on January 22 while playing with friends near his grandmother’s house in North Carolina. When the other children returned but Casey did not, the family searched the area for almost an hour before calling the police.
The police formed a search team to look for the young boy in the nearby woods. But two days went by and—no Casey.
Then on January 24,someone called the police saying he heard a child crying in the woods. The police followed up the information and found Casey at about 21:30 that night. He was in good health.
Casey told the rescuers he had hung out with a black bear for two days, a bear he called his “friend〞.
The police officer Chip Hughes spoke with reporters from several news agencies. He said Casey did not say how he could survive in the woods for two days in the cold, rainy weather. “However,〞 the police officer said, “he did say he had a friend in the woods that was a bear with him.〞
Hundreds of people helped in the search and rescue efforts, including some 600 volunteers, police and members of the army. Doctors at the medical center gave Casey some examinations. He was then sent to his family on January 25.
His mother talked with reporters and thanked everyone who joined the search for her son. “We just want to tell everyone that we’re very thankful that you took the time out to search for Casey,〞 said his mother. “He is up and talking. He’s already asked to watch cartoons.〞

The Bystander
Bystanders are people who see bullying(欺凌) or know about (恶霸) don’t bully in private and bystanders are often around them. Bystanders can choose to: (a) join the bully,(b) ignore(忽视) the bullying or (c) stop it.
Bystanders who join the bully are as bad as the bully, because they help the laugh when the bully does something mean, so the bully thinks he/she is cool or bystanders “like〞 the bully’s Internet posts, the bully posts people make the problem worse.
Some bystanders do are afraid that if they say something, the bully will hurt them makes bystanders who do nothing are saying that “bullying is OK〞.
Here are some reasons why bystanders need to stop helping bullies:
·They are not victims(受害者) today, but they can become victims in the future!
·Bullying can get get ill, hurt and sometimes they even you know that about 60 percent of boys who bully in middle schools break the law later in life?
·Other bullies people think that bullying is cool and they begin to bully.
·No one bullying, everyone in the group feels afraid and nervous.
So how can bystanders help? Bystanders can do small example, they can tell their friends, “I’m not going to take part in bullying any ’m not going to spread rumours(谣言),ignore people or ‘like’ mean please don’t include me in bullying or post mean photos to me.〞 Bystanders can also stop laughing at the bully, because if they laugh, the bully will think he/she is popular.
What else? Bystanders can:
·Say the bully to stop.
·Do an adult (a parent or a teacher).Call the police if it looks the victim.
Finally, bystanders should always stay best way to be safe is to act as a group. Together, the group can make it clear that the bullying is not up together!
