21.(6分)Last week, Education Secretary Arne Duncan declared war on paper textbooks. “Over the next few years,” he said in a speech at the National Press Club, “textbooks should be abandoned.” In their place would come a variety of digital-learning technologies, like e-readers and multi-media websites.
Such technologies certainly have their place. But Secretary Duncan is threatening to light a fire to a tried-and-true technology—good old paper—that has been the foundation for one of the great educational systems on the planet. And while e-readers and multi-media websites may seem appealing, the idea of replacing an effective learning platform with a widely hyped (炒作) but still unproven one is extremely dangerous.
An expert on reading, Maryanne Wolf, has recently begun studying the effects of digital reading on learning, and so far the results are mixed. She worries that Internet reading, in particular, could be such a source of distractions(分散注意力) for students that they may cancel out most other potential benefits of a Web-linked, e-learning environment and while it's true that the high-tech industry has sponsored substantial amounts of research on the potential benefits of Web-based learning, not enough time has passed for longitudinal(纵向旳) studies to demonstrate the full effects.
In addition, digital-reading advocates claim that lightweight e-books benefit students' backs and save schools money. But the rolling backpack seems to have solved the weight problem, and the shocking costs to outfit every student with an e-reader, provide technical support and pay for regular software updates promise to make the e-textbook a very pricey choice.
As both a teacher who uses paper textbooks and a student of urban history, I can't help but wonder what parallels exist between my own field and this sudden, wholesale abandonment of the technology of paper.

A.Multi-media websites and good old paper are kinds of digital-learning technologies.

D.A tried-and-true technology is paper textbooks, long used in educational system.
2、What is the drawback of paper textbooks according to the passage?
A.Their weight. B.Their price.
C.Their content. D.Their appearance.
3、What worries Maryanne Wolf is that ________.
A.paper learning can provide more potential benefits
B.students may not focus on learning by digital reading
C.digital reading can't provide potential benefits for users
D.the results of digital reading effects are understandable
4、What is the author's attitude towards digital-learning?
A.Disapproving. B.Supportive.
C.Positive. D.Objective.
22.(8分) At the age of seven, while his friends were spending their allowances on candy and toys, Jose Adolfo Quisocola, Peru, came up with the creative idea of an eco-bank which allows kids of all ages to become economically independent and financially wise while helping the environment.
Established in , The Bartselana Student Bank is the world’s first cooperative bank for kids. Whoever wants to join has to bring in at least 5 kilograms (11 pounds) of solid waste (paper or plastic) and establish a savings goal. Once accepted, all bank “partners” are required to deposit at least one additional kilogram (2* 2 pounds) of recydables on a monthly basis and obey other requirements, such as attending financial education and environmental management workshops. The waste accumulated is sold to local recycling companies, who, thanks to some clever negotiation by Jose, pay a higher-than-market rate for everything brought in by Bartselana Student Bank members. The funds received are placed in the individual’s account where they collect until his/her savings goal is reached. The account holder can then withdraw his/her money, or choose to leave it and continue to grow for a bigger target.
“At the beginning, my teachers thought I was crazy or that a child could not undertake this type of project,” Jose recalls. “They did not understand that we are not the future of the country but its present. Luckily, I had the support of the school principal and an assistant in my classroom.”
The youngster’s persistence paid off. Today, the eco-bank, which now has the support of several local institutions, has ten educational centers and begins accepting applications from kids all across Peru. On November 20, , the young boy was awarded the famous Children’s Climate Prize (CCP). “Jose’s eco-bank is a brilliant way of linking economy and climate impact, both in thought and practice. The potential impact is amazing”, a judge said.
Hopefully, Jose’s success will inspire more kids and adults to come up with new ideas that create value while helping the environment. As the boy says, “Together we can change the world. we just need an opportunity.”

23.(8分)Li Ping, a college student has been experiencing social awkwardness since her junior middle school years. Back then, she felt unease about going to the restroom alone. She even limited the amount of water she drank so she didn’t have to go there often. “I feared that other students would think that I didn’t get along well with others if I was seen alone,” she said. Li is not the only sufferer of what* s called “social anxiety”.
China Youth Daily recently did a survey among 1,4 people. Nearly half (44. 6 percent) of the participants admitted that they were afraid of being the center of attention. Up to percent of them said they are more likely to be anxious during face-to-face communications than in online conversations. But these feelings are not necessarily anything to worry about. “There is ‘social anxiety’, and there is ‘social anxiety disorder’ or ‘social phobia’. They are two completely different things.” said Li Songwei, a psychological professor at Tsinghua University.
According to Thomas Rodebaugh, a psychology professor at Washington University in St Louis, US, almost everyone suffers from at least a little social anxiety. “For example, we may get it before speaking in public, or have a bad night’s sleep if there is going to be an important interview the next day. But when does social anxiety develop into a disorder? There are two simple questions you can ask yourself if you’re concerned—‘How much does the anxiety affect my life?’ and ‘Is it acceptable?’ If the condition becomes so problematic and you refuse to go out at all and cannot live a normal life, you just need to seek treatment.” he notes.
But for common social anxiety, people all have their different coping strategies. “The way I employ is reason plus reward,” said Wang Li, another once-sufferer. For example, she tells herself that there is no such thing as right or wrong when pushing yourself to speak publicly: there are only people who agree with you or not. And if she conquers her fear, she buys new shoes or goes to see a movie after class.
1、The first paragraph is mainly used to .
A.make a comparison B.teach a new word “social anxiety”
C.draw a conclusion D.introduce a phenomenon
2、What may Thomas Rodebaugh agree with?

C.Little attention is paid to social anxiety. D.Not all social anxiety needs treatment.
3、The underlined word “employ” in Paragraph 4 is closest in meaning to the one in “ ”.
A.I want to employ Weibo as a means to practice my writing
B.More than 40
