本单元围绕康乐服务展开话题。让学生掌握旅游饭店为游客提供康体休闲和精神文化娱乐服务的操作规程。通过本单元的学习，学生不仅能用得体的英语语言对自己和他人进行介绍，还能将教学内容与职业岗位需要的技能、知识、素质有机整合。
课时
8学时，其中4个学时为新知识探究(Theoretical Lessons),4个学时为实践演练（Practical Lessons）。
学情分析
教学对象是旅游服务与管理专业的学生，有一定的英语和专业基础，但中专学生学习英语的兴趣不高，英语学习缺乏主动性。学生被动学习现象严重，不愿张口练习英语，因此口语交际能力很难得到更大的提高，举一反三的思维迁移学习能力也很难得到有效培养。但通过将教学内容与职业岗位需要的技能、知识、素质有机整合实现以胜任职业岗位为基础的教育，学生也乐于参与课堂。

1. What can the guests do in the Recreation Center?
The guests can do all kinds of exercise in the fitness center, such as bicycling, chest expanding, playing bowling, running on the machine, and so on.
2. Why do so many foreign guests enjoy practicing shadow boxing in China?
First, shadow boxing is good for health. Besides, it is a typical Chinese exercise. It will help the foreigners to learn more about China and its culture. That’s why so many foreign guests enjoy practicing shadow boxing in China.
教师补充总结：
Shadow Boxing is an important branch of Chinese martial arts, which is called “Taijiquan”. It originated hundreds of years ago. Taijiquan is used for life enhancement, health building and combat. Actually, we have Qigong besides Shadow Boxing. In English it means breathing exercises. Through the regulation of the body, mind and respiration, it can improve health, prolong life, and increase one’s resistance to illness by obtaining harmony between nature and your inner world.

4. Text of Shaolin Kungfu
Shaolin Kungfu
The Mountain of Songshan, which lies in the center of the vast Chinese nation, is one of the famous country’s Buddhist sacred land and the birthplace of Kung Fu.
In AD 527 the religious teacher, Da Mo, traveled from India to Shaolin to spread the word of Buddha. He spent nine years living alone and meditating（冥想） in a cave above the Shaolin temple. To keep his muscles healthy, he developed a series of movements and breathing exercises based on the movements of animals. It became the basis of Kungfu.
When Da Mo returned to the Shaolin temple, he began to teach the monks these techniques, and his tool of meditation evolved into a tool of combat. Gongfu was born.
Today, the Shaolin temple welcomes millions of tourists a year. It shows us its history of a commercialized form. But in the less visited temples of the Songshan hills, the original spirit of Shaolin lives on.

Brief Introduction of Chinese Kungfu
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to China. Now, I’d like to tell you something about Chinese Kungfu, which is also called Wushu. It is a very important and unique form of Chinese culture. It can be viewed as both a popular and a classical art. Today, it is very common and widespread. On the other hand, it has a very long history.
Meanwhile, Chinese Kungfu is also making an impact on Western culture. The popularity of Chinese Kungfu, including Shadow boxing, Qigong, etc., is not limited to China but has a worldwide phenomenon.
At first, people used Kungfu to fight against wild beasts. Gradually, they gained experience in self-defense. Now, Kungfu has already become a name card of China. There are many famous Kungfu stars enjoying great fame in the world, for example, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

本模块内容是设置康乐服务的实训案例，是提升学生职业能力的开放性活动题例，是对本单元所学知识的归纳总结、扩展和应用，授课时教师可酌情引导和掌握，引领学生探索提供康乐服务的基本工作技能，提升职业素养。
教师引领学生选做康乐服务项目实训专题——中国功夫介绍。学生采用头脑风暴、小组合作探究、自主学习法对本单元已学知识进行归纳总结、延伸、扩展讨论，促进挖掘学习的深度和广度。
（六）小结巩固
知识梳理：本单元学习旅游饭店康乐服务的基本知识。本次课掌握Key words and phrases和Chinese Kungfu。主要是学习并了解中国功夫的渊源及底蕴，增强文化自信和民族自豪感，宣传地方特色旅游资源，弘扬中华优秀传统文化。
