同义句转换
同义句转换是英语中考必考题型之一，其考察范围很广,解题方法也灵活多样，其中将复合句变为简单句就可成为同义句是最常用的方法。我一直从事初中毕业班英语教学工作，,现将自己在教学中所归纳的此类知识寄往本报，恳求得到编辑老师们的指导。

如何将复合句变为简单句
利用动词不定式将复合句变为简单句。初中阶段所学的有：
I didn’t know which book I should choose。
I didn't know which book to choose.
运用“疑问词+不定式”结构。
He promised that he could help me with my math.
He promised to help me with my math。
It seemed that they had had breakfast.
He seemed to have had breakfast。
以上两题是将宾语从句变为动词不定式做宾语。
The boy is so weak that he can’t carry the heavy box.
The boy is too weak to carry the heavy box。
5. The boy is so strong that he can carry the heavy box。
The boy is strong enough to carry the heavy box.
以上两题是将so…that…句型转化为too…to…句型与…enough to…句型.
6。 He couldn’t help crying when he heard the bad news。
He couldn't help crying to hear the bad news.
将时间状语从句转化为动词不定式做原因状语.
I’m glad that I can meet you 。

将原因状语从句变为动词不定式做原因状语。
利用介词或介词短语将复合句变为简单句。常见的有：
When he was twelve years old， Edison began selling newspapers on a train.
At the age of twelve, Edison began selling newspapers on a train.
运用at the age of替换表示岁数的时间状语从句。
2。 When he was a child， he liked to ask questions.
As a child（或In his childhood), he liked to ask questions。
对于不出现具体岁数的时间状语从句，可借助于as将其进行转化.
3. We piled the snow in one place so that we could make a snowman。
We piled the snow in one place in order to make a snowman.
运用in order to (或so as to）替换so that引导的结果或目的状语从句.
4。Jenny couldn't keep back her tears because she was sad。
Jenny couldn’t keep back her tears because of her sadness(或because of being sad)。
用because of 替换because引导的从句 。类似的还有用instead of 替换instead，用in spite of替换though或 although等.
he stayed in America, he had to work all day long。
During his stay in America（或While staying in America), he had to work all day long.
用while或during加名词或动名词的形式替换时间状语从句。
6。 He was greatly surprised that somebody had broken into his house yesterday。
To his great surprise, somebody had broken into his house yesterday。
用to one’s +n此类短语将从句消除，从而将复合句变为简单句.

用介词without+n（doing）：
If you study hard， you’ll catch up with your classmates.
8 Study hard and you'll catch up with your classmates.
Unless you work hard, you won’t pass the exam.
Work hard or you won't pass the exam。
将条件状语从句变为祈使句，从而将复合句变为简单句。（附:以上转化后的两句为并列句）。
将宾语从句变为复合宾语,从而将复合句变为简单句。有以下类型：
We thought it was difficult to get on with him。
We thought it difficult to get on with him。
I found that he was an honest man。
I found him an honest man。（或I found him to be an honest man.）
主句的谓语动词是think, find， make时，可将其后的宾语从句变为该动词的复合宾语。
They saw she was doing her homework。
They saw her doing her homework.。
对于see, hear等感官动词后的宾语从句可借助于“感官动词+人(物）+do(或doing)”结构将它进行转换。
