Ⅰ.阅读理解
A
I'm not a fulltime traveller. I spend most days working to earn a living just like you do. But whenever a chance arises for me to visit a faroff country, I jump at it.
When studying abroad in New Zealand, I travelled extensively all over the country with two friends. We booked everything from whale watching to a private flight over the Southern Alps, and racked up some impressive credit card bills. Another international student almost looked down her nose at our pricey adventures, declaring that she had come to New Zealand to study, not to empty her savings account on travel.
My question to her came. Why would you come halfway around the world to save your money and keep your nose pressed into a book every weekend? Would you go to China and not visit the Great Wall because it costs money? Would you go to Italy and skip visiting the Vatican because it requires an admission ticket?
I know where I would like my life to go in the coming months and years. But there are no guarantees that things will go as planned. Practically, nothing will go as planned.
“Oh, I'll travel when I retire.”“I'll travel when the kids grow up.”“I'll travel when the house is paid off.” How often do we hear others say these? I hear these excuses all the time. But do you know what occurs? Age. And stress. And, well, life. Life happens and by that time, you have bad knees and weak lungs and you simply cannot visit all those places you dreamed about in your youth. How sad! I don't want to end up like that, holding on to youthful travel dreams that will never be realities.
So I often think, what if “sometime later” never comes?
So if you are privileged enough to be able to afford to travel, then you should seize the chance with curiosity and energy and a sense of adventure.
So travel young, and travel far.

3.What is the author's writing purpose?
A.To circulate the advantages of travel.

B
Last month, my husband and I completed what some of our friends considered a foolish task: a 32day, 5,232mile camping trip with children in our van, without “high tech” to occupy the children.
It was the screenless journey that showered me with doubts. But is “boredom” senseless? My friend Renee, who has driven crosscountry with her three kids eight times, calls boredom the mother of creativity. She's not the only one that sees virtues of blank time. In a recently published paper, researchers at East Anglia University in England concluded that the trancelike (发呆的) state helps recharge the mind and is “central to learning and creativity”. I wasn't trying to make my kids smarter. Neither do I dislike high tech. But I understand too well the power of miniscreens to transform our kids into zombies (麻木迟钝的人).
On Day 1, our 7yearold son announced “Texas is so boring!” The next day, struggling against his seat belt, he yelled he couldn't take any more of this. His 5yearold sister was better at spending the long hours playing makebelieve with the stuffed animals. On Day 3 he began to count mountains and see pandas and dolphins in distant clouds in the Texas sky. I often joined the kids in the back, where we did thumb wrestling. With wellknown mountains ahead, my husband told the children the past legends of them. “Arizona is not as boring as Texas,” our son declared.
I hope the trip gave kids some lazy, unstructured time to learn something about valuing the trip instead of looking for the__fastest__way to burn it up. I don't always make the right call as a parent but I know that in banning the small screens we made the right choice this time.
4.Why did the author choose a screenfree journey?
friends were highly against it.
B.She disliked advanced technology.
C.She feared the passive influence of miniscreens.
D.The researchers proved the harm of modern technology.
5.What happened to the author's family during the crosscountry drive?

B.Her kids had a tough time riding in the vehicle.

C.The interest in playing games with others.
D.The choice of killing time by playing with digital devices.
7.Which is the best title for the text?

Touching Crosscountry Trip of My Family
's Wrong With Boredom Without High Tech?
Kids out of Parents' Reasonable Choices
Ⅱ.七选五
The Best Medicine: Laughter
Laughter is the best medicine. It helps solve problems, improve relationships, and support both physical and emotional health. __1__ Read the following suggestions and learn to make laughter part of your life.
Laugh at yourself. This is one of the biggest differences between happy people and unhappy people. It communicates to both you and the people around you that it's no big deal. So be brave enough to share your embarrassing moments. __2__ When something negative happens, try to make it a humorous story that will make you and others laugh.
Surround yourself with amusing reminders to lighten up. Put up a funny poster in your office. Keep a toy on your desk or in your car. __3__ Frame photos of you and your family or friends having fun. All of these are good resources of laughter.
__4__ Even if you don't consider yourself a humorous person, you can still seek out new friends who are ready to laugh and who can make you laugh. They are people who find humour in everyday events. Their playful points of view and laughter are contagious (传染的). When you are around them, you'll be more likely to laugh too.
Don't go a day without laughing. Set aside 10 minutes each day to do something that amuses you. You can watch some humorous videos or look at some funny photos online. __5__ Try thinking back to a joke you heard or read, or a comedy you watched.
As long as you have a joyful heart and purposely make time to laugh, you'll be amazed at how differently you will begin to view your job, your family, your relationships and yourself.
A.Try to be a lightening person.
B.Spend time with funny people.
C.Choose a computer screensaver that makes you laugh.
D.If you can't find any humour at hand, recall something funny.
E.But not everyone is good at laughing genuinely and accurately.
to laugh at your awkward situations rather than regret them.
G.Go to a humorous play or see a film that can make you burst out laughing.
