The history of gulangyu 鼓浪屿简介
Gulangyu, separated from Xiamen by the 500-metre-wide Egret River, with an area of square kilometres, enjoys a laudatory title“Garden on the sea”.The original name was Yuan Zhou Zi. In the Ming Dynasty it was renamed Gulang,meaning “drum waves”, because the holes in the southwestern reefs hit by the waves make sounds like the drum beating .

Gulangyu is famous for its architecture and for being home to China’s largest piano museum. People here all love the piano.

was built in 1931 at the foot of the sunlight rock,face the garden consists of two parts,canghai and bushan.

Sunlight rock 日光岩
The Sunlight Rock is the highest place on the island, so it has e the symbol of Gulangyu. Standing at the top of the Sunlight Rock, one can see the landscape of the whole xiamen and other islands.
日光岩是岛上最高的地方,所以它成为了鼓浪屿的标志。站在日光岩的顶上,可以看到整个厦门和其他岛屿的景色。
