of International Economics
is it important to study international economics?
Many topics such as international trade ,interaction of international trade policy in different nations ,the study of interdependence of world economy ,the balance of payments ,
foreign exchange markets and open-economy macroeconomics are either directly or indirectly the subject matter of international economics.
Some knowledge of international economics is necessary to understand what goes on in the world of today .On a more practical level ,the study of international economics is require for numerous jobs in multinational corporations ,international banking government agencies and anizations such as the United Nations.
Trade and the Nation’s Standard of Living
International trade plays an important role in improving a nation’s well-being or standards of living. First of all, with international trade , nations can get the goods that can not be produced domestically or can be produced but only at a higher cost that abroad. Second , nations can obtain some important or scarce factors of production which the country has no deposit or domestic reserve are dwindling .
Third, for developing nations exports in goods or services can provides employments opportunities and earnings to pay for the many products that they can not now produce at home or can at a higher costs ,and for the advanced technology they need. Fourth, based on the specialization in production, international trade can make each nations in trading better off.
