作为王尔德唯一一部长篇小说,《道连·格雷的画像》,并被贴上“不道德”的标签。本论文旨在重新审视王尔德唯美主义及小说内涵。
本文采用细读的方法对小说《道连·格雷的画像》中的人物刻画及情节安排进行了分析。从而得出王尔德在展现其“生活模仿艺术”和“艺术与道德无关”的唯美主义观点的同时,在小说中发现王尔德塑造的唯美形象并未失去道德特征。如巴兹尔在追寻美与艺术的同时充当着道德向导的角色;亨利极力宣传唯美主义和享乐主义,另一方面对生活采取的是超然的态度;道连践行唯美主义的同时内心充满道德焦虑。此外,王尔德对弱者的同情,对不道德行为的谴责以及画像变化对罪恶的记录所起到的道德警示作用都体现了王尔德有较强的道德意识。同时,本篇论文采用论证法分析王尔德唯美与道德双重表现的原因,以证实王尔德显性唯美与隐性道德双重表达的合理性。
最后得出结论:作为唯美主义集大成者,王尔德在强调艺术与道德的分离,唯美与道德无关的同时并未放弃自己的道德立场。他的小说《道连·格雷的画像》体现了显性唯美与隐性道德的完美结合,同时也表明王尔德不仅仅是一个为“艺术而艺术”唯美主义者,更是一个恪守传统道德观念的唯美主义者。

Introduction
Oscar Wilde (1854—1900) is the most controversial writer in the 19th century. He is the advocator and representative of the Aestheticism Movement. His writing involves novel, fairy tale, drama, and poetry. His only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray has aroused overwhelming responses among critics in the literary circles since its publication in the year of 1890, most of whom criticized the immoral thoughts reflected in the novel.
