They accepted the doctrine of predestination, original sin , total depravity and limited atonement through a special infusion of grace from God. As culture heritage, American Puritanism also had a enduring influence on American literature.
Colonial Period stretches from the settlement of North America in the early seventeenth century through the end of the eighteenth.
