Why do we need subjunctive mood?
to express doubt, imaginary situation, wishes etc
Types of The Subjunctive Mood
I. …v.-ed
由相应的过去式形式表示虚拟语气
II. …should + original verb
由should + 动词原形表示虚拟语气

由相应的过去式形式表示虚拟语气
1. if 条件状语从句,表示虚拟
对过去情况表示虚拟:
If …had done sth., … would / could / might have done sth.
如果你昨天参加了会议,你就会欣赏到他们非常棒的演讲.
If you had attended the meeting yesterday, you would have enjoyed their excellent speeches.
省略式→Had you attended the
meeting, you would have …
对现在情况表示虚拟
If sb.… did / were…, Sb. would / could / might do sth.
If he liked swimming, he would go with you.
如果我是你,我就会更理解他.
If I were you, I would understand him more.
省略式→ Were I you, I would understand ...
对将来情况表示虚拟
(1)If sb. did sth., sb. would / could / might do...
(2)If sb. should do …, sb. would/could/might do...
(3)If sb. were to do …, sb. would/could/might do…
如果他明天来的话,我就帮你做饭.
If he came here tomorrow, I would cook for you.
If he e here tomorrow, …
省略式→ Should e here tomorrow, …
If he were e tomorrow, I …
省略式→ Were he e tomorrow, I…
2. … wish that…sb did / were / had done / would could might…
我希望我现在在那里.
I wish that I were there now.
我希望我从来没有见过他.
I wish that I hadn’t seen him before.
我希望将来有一天能学点西班牙语.
I wish that I would learn some Spanish some day.
我多希望我们以前学多一点关于自然的东西啊.
