1924, Baldwin was born in New York ghetto(贫民窟) Harlem, A bastard(私生子).
Three years old, mother married with a poor pastor(牧师).
12, published his first short story about the Spanish Revolution.
When he was 14, he start church sermons(教堂布道) . Three years later ,he left.
Acted as Restaurant waiters and servants.

1948, he left the United States for Paris. (Black and gay discrimination,Depression and hopelessness)
1957,he went back to the United States . (little rock)
1987, Baldwin died due to gastric cancer(胃癌)

Christian doctrine(基督教教义) for black : the blacks should naturally follow God's plan, accept the poor fate than whites.
Religious influence for his works:
His admirable Eloquent style thanks to the experience of the church, the sermon(布道), the characters in many of his works can be found from the Christian prototype(原型), and even many of the names from the Bible.
