LIFE CYCLE COST MODEL AND ITS APPLICATION FOR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENTS CONSIDERING THE RELIABILITY

ABSTRACT:The Life Cycle Cost (LCC) principle has been widely utilized to make good social and economic benefits in many fields. Cost analysis of each part in the LCC and its calculation model are presented using the LCC theory and the cost analysis approach considering the investment time. Considering the influence of equipment reliability, the LCC model for a power equipment is presented based on the equivalent annual value method and calculation models for the investment cost, maintenance cost, outage loss, etc. This model is used to calculate and analyze the LCC of actual electric power projects, and perform the optimal selection from the propositional equipments. It clearly presents the cash flow calculation process for an equipment using the LCC principle. Results of case studies show that the proposed LCC model can be used to optimize the projects schemes and improve the investment efficiency, and it is correct and practical.
