Past continuous tense
过去进行时
was/were + v.-ing
★时间段: from … to …+ 过去时间
过去进行时主要表示:
￭在过去某一时刻正在进行的动作
(a) They were eating breakfast at 7:00 am yesterday .
(b) I was writing a letter at this time last Sunday .
★at+时间点, at this time, at that time + 过去时间
￭在过去某一段时间一直在进行的动作
(a) From 1983 to 1998 , he was teaching at Yale .
(b) They were building a cinema last winter .
需要用过去进行时的时间状语:
at 6 . yesterday
this time yesterday
at the same time last year
from 8:00 to 10:00 last night
过去进行时的“时光机”
Past Continuous Verb Forms
1. 肯定句: She was drinking.
2. 否定句: She wasn't drinking.
3. 一般疑问句:
Was she drinking?
4. 简要回答:
Yes, she was. No, she wasn't.
5. WH- Questions:
When was she drinking?
