一、一般现在时(The Simple Present Tense)
一般现在时常用动词原形来表示,如:The students go to school every ,谓语动词需作相应变化,如:He goes to school every day.
动词的第三人称单数的变化规则如下:
一般情况+ s,如:reads, works, writes
以字母o,s,x,ch,sh结尾的动词+ es,如:does, misses, fixes, catches, pushes
辅音字母+ y结尾的词,变y为i + es,如:studies, tries
特殊变化:be – is have – has
一般现在时的用法:
表示客观事实或普遍真理
. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
Trains runs faster than cars.
表示经常反复发生的动作或****惯性动作
. Father often goes to work on foot.
We study hard.
Mary plays the piano every evening.
此类用法常与always,usually,often,sometimes,everyday day/week/month/Sunday等频度副词或时间状语连用。
补充说明:
在have作谓语动词的句子中,如have不解释为“有”时,需加上助动词才能将其改为否定句和疑问句。
. They have breakfast at home.
They haven’t breakfast at home.(×)
They don’t have breakfast at home.(√)
在由连词if,when,as soon as,until,unless等引导的条件和时间状语从句中,常用一般现在时代替将来时。
. The sports meeting will be put off if it rains tomorrow.
I will telephone you as soon as I arrive in Beijing.
3、一般现在时表示真理时,不受其他时态的影响
. The mother told her little daughter that the earth goes round the sun.
The teacher said water freezes at 0℃.
