Step 1. Warming up
1).Let the students listen to the song: Hello!
2).Let the students say hello to each other.
eg. A: Hello! B: Hello!
Step 2. Presentation
1).Today we have two new friends. Look!
Teach the new words: cat monkey
Using the cards to teach the words
The teacher shows the cards to the students,
Write the words on the blackboard
The students read and spell the words
2).Listen to the tape
Let the students know the dialogue
Teach the new sentences:
Hello! I’m Kate. Hi! I’m Gao Wei.
3).Listen to the tape,
Let the students listen and repeat.
4).Sing the song together
a. read the sentences
b. listen to it
c. listen and sing
Step 3. Practice
1).Practice the words
The students look at the cards carefully, then read and spell it out
2).Write the words on their exercise book
3).Listen to the tape , read it follow the tape
4).Read the dialogue in pairs
Step 4. Consolidation and extension
1).Write the exercise book
2).Let the students say hello in pairs
