连读
如果前一个词以辅音结尾,后一个词已元音开头,那么前词的词尾辅音常与后词的词首元音相拼,即连读。有时听力上会感觉到两个词重新划分了,如check in, in 成为了前一个词的一部分。再如hold on, 听起来/d/属于后一个词。了解连读的规律,有助于提高我们的听力水平。

词尾为“r”的连读
在以字母r结尾的单词中,r不发音,但在与后词的词首元音发生连读时发音,读/r/.
如:
1. Here is a book.
2. I’ll store it in the basement.
3. I didn’t hear it.
4. In the end, I could not bear it.
5. He bought a pair of shoes yesterday.
6. What do you want for a present?
7. After each show, the singer feels tired.
8. Air is very fresh.
注意:there is, there are 的连读。
失爆
失爆即爆破音的失去。如有两个爆破音或同一爆破音[p],[b],[t],[d],[k],[g]连贯出现在同一单词中或连贯出现在前一单词词尾与后一单词词首,前一音只按其发音部位形成阻碍,但不爆破,稍作间息后立即过渡到后一个音的发音部位并爆破,这种现象称为失爆。失爆在考试中较为常见,是导致很多同学误听或漏听的重要原因。
1. 当前一个单词的末尾与后一个单词的开头都是爆破音时,前一个爆破音不发出来。
ta(k)e place; nex(t) door; eas(t) coast; bi(g) bag; las(t) time
2. 爆破音后面的发音为/s,z,f,v,…/及/m, n, l/也会发生失爆现象。
