(1)a little“一点儿”,修饰形容词或副词的原级和比较级。
:She was a little thirsty. 她有点渴。
He is a little taller than I.
拓展:a little 意为“有点儿”,可修饰不可数名词,具有肯定意义;而little 意为“很少,几乎没有”,含有否定意义,也可修饰不可数名词。
: There is a little water in the 。
There is little water in the bottle. 瓶子里面没有水。

hundreds of 意为“几百”,英语中表示概数时可用“hundreds/thousands of +名词复数形式”结构。
: hundreds of books 几百本书
注意:“hundreds/thousands of +名词复数形式”结构中,其前面不可加基数词,但可与many连用。
