1. It’s time for everyone to go home . 到每个人回家的时候了。
(1)It’s time for sb. to do sth . 意为“到某人该做某事的时候了,某人该做某事了”。此类句式还可表达为:It’s time for sth . 例如:It’s time for bed . 该睡觉了。
(2)go为不及物动词,e后面跟地点名词则应接介词to。
: Let’s go to Beijing . 让我们去北京吧。home为副词,介词to应该去掉。如果home前有修饰语或形容词性物主代词修饰时,说明home为名词,这时应加介词to 。
:Let’s go to my home . 让我们去我家吧。
(3)短语in time意为“及时/迟早,总有一天”。
:The doctor came in time to help her . 医生及时赶到帮助她。
You will find out in time the truth of what I say . 迟早有一天你会发现我的话是有道理的。
短语on time意为“按时”。
:The train arrived on time . 火车按时到达。
2. Danny and Jenny will go back to Canada by plane . 丹尼和詹妮将乘飞机回加拿大。
(1)go back to 意为“回到……;返回……”。
:Please go back to your seat . 请回到你的的座位上。
类似的短语还有:be back /come back 回来相当于return
(2)by直接加某种交通工具,意为“乘……”。by plane意为“乘飞机”,介词短语by plane 在句中作状语。乘飞机还可以表示为:by air, on a plane
3. They take a taxi to the airport . 他们乘出租汽车去机场。
(1)动词短语take a taxi意为“乘出租汽车”,在句中作谓语。
类似的短语有:take a bus 乘公共汽车 take a plane 乘飞机 take a train 乘火车
(2)“介词by﹢某种交通工具”在句中作状语。此句话还可以说成:They go to the airport by taxi .。
