摘要:双汇镇位于旺苍县城以北,米他山南麓,距县城22公里,旺(苍)—鼓(城)旅游路和旺(苍)—龙(潭子)旅游路穿境而过,,森林覆盖率在76%以上,全镇10个行政村、82个农业合作社,有农业人口9608人,平均海拔460—1500米,地貌结构复杂,矿产资源丰富(有无烟煤矿、硫铁矿、石墨矿、锂矿等),地形切割分明。农业生产以水稻、玉米、油菜、干果、蚕桑、茶叶、烤烟、中药材等为主,是典型资源性农业乡镇。

一、蚕桑生产发展现状
双汇人历来有栽桑养蚕的习惯,近百年的蚕桑种养历史,孕育了丰富的蚕桑文化和桑梓情结。最初的栽桑养蚕是为了自给自足、纺纱织布以避风寒。随着社会的进步,社会物质需求日益增长,蚕桑成为商品,蚕桑生产得到空前的发展,双汇镇蚕桑也随之得到发展和壮大。长期以来,双汇镇蚕桑生产由新兴到兴旺到衰竭,再有衰竭到兴旺,几经周折,蚕农真正体会到个中滋味,但无论市场如何多变,双汇镇的蚕桑发展从未中断过。盛时壮大,衰时发展,是双汇镇蚕桑产业走到今天的法宝。全镇现有桑树48万株(多以四边桑为主),县级蚕桑基地1个,2亩以上的密植桑园14个;有养蚕农户250余户,养蚕能手24人,获得《农民绿色证书》2人;有日加工鲜茧0.
