“It is not a stereotyped (老套的) as people think…We do not always go out the streets wearing a beret or a pair of cigarette pants,” said French personal stylist Isabelle Thomas, who recently published a book entitled Paris Street Style: A Guide to Effortless Chie.
“effortless” is a word often used to describe French style , which is all about looking good without appearing to be trying too hard. French woman clothes always look spontaneous(随性的), as if they have thrown them on without even thinking about it.
Secrets of French style
Ignore trends : What French women do not do is follow trends. They do not care for magazines that “chatter” about what should be worn.
No-no's : French styles means no quilted jackets, jogging clothes in velour, or wearing Converse after your 26th birthday , according to Thomas. And avoid wearing a necklace and earrings together.
American fashion : casual
American woman are rocking a casual look, worn-out jeans and loose-fitting plaid shirt, like Hollywood stars are always seen in.
Unlike French style , American fashion is more trend-driven. Woman like to purchase outfits in style that resemble the latest concepts or hot celebrities of the moment.
Must-have piece : Although jeans are ubiquitous throughout the word, Americans’ love for jeans tops everything else. American women even have a way of wearing jeans so they do not look like a last resort(手段). Sometimes they dress up their jeans with heels and a nice top for a casual but stylish look.
