英语广播新闻用于大学生英语听力测试初探

摘要

随着交际语言测试的发展和盛行,测试的真实性越来越受到广泛关注。在听
力测试中使用真实材料亦成为测试开发者关心的问题。
英语广播新闻作为一种真实易得且能提供大量信息的听力材料已被广泛而
有选择地应用于大学听力课堂和大学生自学过程,听广播新闻成为学生在真实生
活中经常遇到的听力任务。
本文认为,英语广播新闻作为真实的听力材料可与大学生英语听力测试相结
合。目前关于这方面的研究还颇为少见,为探知真实的未经修改文本和重新录制
的广播新闻能否用于又如何用于大学生听力测试,本文回顾了听力理解和听力测
试的相关理论,总结了广播新闻的显著特点,在此基础上设计出了新闻听力试卷,
并着重阐述了试卷设计过程中考虑的各种因素,例如文本选择,递送方式,听力
任务等。
在用新闻听力试卷对 54 名大学生进行了试测后,统计数据表明该新闻听力
试卷的效度较为令人满意,整卷的难度和区分度也较为理想。除定量分析外,作
者也进行了定性研究。问卷调查的结果表明该试卷具有良好的表面效度,同时学
生对真实的广播新闻听力亦持积极肯定态度,更进一步说明将英语广播新闻用于
大学生听力测试具有一定可行性。

Abstract

With the prevalence municative Language Testing, test authenticity has
been much more emphasized than ever before. To use authentic materials and
construct authentic tasks in listening tests has e test writers’ concern.
Due to the authenticity, accessibility and informativeness, news broadcasts are
widely exploited as listening input materials in classroom teaching and self-learning.
Despite their popularity with teachers and students, little attention has yet been paid to
the use of authentic news broadcasts in English listening tests.
The present study, through designing a news listening sample test, tries to
explore the feasibility of using authentic news input materials in listening tests for
college students. The author reviews the pertinent theories and practices of listening
comprehension and listening testing, and examines the salient features of news
broadcasts to form a basis for the quantitative and qualitative studies. While designing
a news listening sample test for college students, various factors concerning the
selection of the news materials, the delivery of the input, the construction of the test
tasks, etc. are taken into consideration and described at length.
