In 1632 ,Milton received his .(学士学位)
In 1629 ,Latin, Greek, French, Italian, and Hebrew(希伯来语), Cambridge to e a clergyman(牧师), but he was dissuaded from this occupation due to “tyranny”(专制统治) in the church.
So, Milton spent the 6 years after getting his .(文学硕士学位) reading the Greek and Latin classics, and studying mathematics and music.

Literary life文学生涯
In 1637, he visited Italy and met Galileo(伽利略). He returned to England 1639 and began to think about writing an Arthurian epic.
He gave that idea up soon and wavered(动摇) between writing on Biblical(圣经) subjects and heroic figures in British history. In 1640, he decided to write on Paradise Lost.

In 1645,he and his wife reconciled([′rek(ə)nsail] 断绝来往), daughter
Anne was born in 1646. In 1652, became blind ,only son and wife died.
In 1656, he remarried , but she died in childbirth a year later, ending "the happiest time" in Milton's life.
In 1663, Milton got a third wife , since his rebellious([ri′beljəs]叛逆的) daughters would not care for him.

On the day before his 66th birthday, November 8, 1674, Milton died of gout-fever. He was buried in the Church of St. Giles, Cripplegate, beside his father.
