Chambers of the heart① right atrium② left atrium③ right ventricle④ left ventricle
right atrium: ① It receives blood from the SVC、IVC and the coronary sinus② the sulcus terminalis separate it to two parts: smooth and rough③ the fossa ovalis is formed from embryological septum secundum④ the outflow valve of the right atrium is the tricuspid.
right atrium: ⑤ the inflow from the superior vena cava is directed toward the tricuspid orifice, whereas blood from the inferior vena cava is directed toward the fossa ovalis.
right ventricle: ① the entrance to this chamber, the tricuspid orifice (posteriorly), the exit orifice is the pulmonary trunk (superiorly);② the smooth wall inferior to the pulmonary orifice, the remainder of the ventricle is rough with fleshy trabeculae;
right ventricle: ③ three tyepes of trabeculae: mere ridges, bridges attached only at each end, and finger –like projections called papillary muscles. The anterior papillary muscle rises from the anterior wall, the posterior from the posterior wall, and a series of small septal papillae from the septal wall;
right ventricle: ④ the septomarginal trabecula extends from the septum to the base of the anterior papillary muscle;
