Abstract. In Spain, ozone levels have usually been measured at urban sites, but less so at rural and semi-urban sites. However, over the past few years, ozone levels have increasingly been monitored at rural and semi-urban sites (1). In order to determine ozone levels in semi-urban ecosystems, an automated ozone measuring station taking continuous readings was installed at Villafría airport (7 km from the provincial capital Burgos). Another automated ozone measuring station monitoring air quality, was installed in a green space to the southwest of Villafría. There is also a similar station located in the outskirts of the town of Miranda de Ebro, 80 km from the city of Burgos.
This paper presents an analysis of the data on ozone levels collected from all three of these stations. Ozone levels from the two stations close to the city of Burgos have been monitored, recorded and analysed, since 2001, and levels from Miranda de Ebro, since 2003. During the same period, the main meteorological variables have also been regularly monitored, as well as those associa
