Abstract : The a uthors explore non
linea r content ess mode of spatia l data on virtual earth, and then a dopt grid
based peer group for resource loca ting on top of tra ditional P2P locating method. Further, peer selection
mecha nisms to optimize the results of resource locating are discussed. Historical download speed records are
combined to estimate the preference of peer so tha t high ca pa city a nd reliable peer ca n be chosen firstly. Two
modes of our peer selection mecha nism that a re loca l optima l a nd non
equal probability ha ve been tested through
ma ny simulative experiments. Results show the better effects with our peer selection paring to
random peer selection, a nd a lso tell that effectiveness of peer selection mecha nism is rela ted to applica tion
scenario such as peer number, file size a nd user
