文档介绍:Beyond the classroom
Beyond the Classroom calls for new models of schooling that
recognise that the future of young people is the responsibility
of the munity. These models should form the basis
of a new social alliance across school systems enabling all
young people to take an active—if not leading—role in that
community, beyond the school gates.
Building
Beyond the Classroom is based on the findings of research
carried out by the Education Foundation (now in alliance new
with the Foundation for Young Australians). The message that school
emerges from the research is that tinkering around the works
of schooling will not provide solutions to the widening gaps in
education that limit opportunities for many young Australians.
Rosalyn Black is the Senior Research Manager at the
Foundation for Young Australians. She has many years of
experience of teaching and leadership in government schools
and higher education, and has worked with the Victorian
Department of Education and Early Childhood Development,
Rosalyn Black
informing state and national policy directions.
