Daily maintenances consists of cleaning and washing operations and checking the overall condition of the car so as to ensure its safe operation and appropriate appearance. The car is cleaned and washed, inspected, filled fuel, oil and coolant. Daily maintenance is timed with the beginning or end of a shift.

Level 1 maintenance calls for the repeating of all daily maintenance operations followed by a number of additional operations involving the tightening of mounting parts, lubricating, inspecting and adjusting of units and parts which are all carried out without dismounting and disassembling them.
