Usual practice on establishment of L/C
The date of issuing L/C:
The L/C is to be opened and to reach the seller one month prior to the date of shipment
The importance of prompt establishment L/C:
1. give the seller ample time to make the goods ready
2. enable the seller to book shipping space
The letter of urging establishment of L/C usually includes:
Inform that the goods contracted has been ready for shipping.
Remind that the covering L/C has not been received.
Request for expediting establishment L/C
