The main theoretical significance lies in that this research makes a statement about the impact of schema theory for guiding college English reading teaching.
Practical Significance:
As for the practical significance of this research, it puts forward some effective teaching strategies which base on schema theory for improving the effect of the current college English reading teaching.

4. Theoretical Basis:
In 1871, the word “schema” is found in the Kant’s masterpiece for the first time.
In 1970s, the artificial intelligence expert, D. E. Rumelhart developed the schema concept into schema theory.
