Abstract: The influence of different solid solution treatment on the microstructure of
Cu-.%Cr-.%Zr-.%Mg-.%Ce alloy have been investigated by disperse
spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The
SEM results show that new phase formed in the matrix with the shape of lamellae under the definite
temperature and time. Through analyses of the energy spectrum (EDS), the new phase was an oxide.
By indexing the diffraction patterns and XRD analysis, the oxide was Mg2Zr5O12. Electrical
conductivity and micro-hardness of this alloy were investigated after solid solution treatment.
