Abstract: In this paper, TMPTA prepolymer resin and photoinitiators of ITX/TPO have been
encapsulated in core-shell structured microcapsules as optical responding ingredients based on
interfacial polycondensation method. FT-IR spectra detection presents that polyurea structured
microcapsule shell has been formed through the polycondensation reaction on the sheared O/W
interface between isocyanate bonds of IPDI and amino end-groups of TEPA. The synthesized
microcapsule has regular core-shell structure with the diameter of about and shell thichkness
of about 40nm. UV-visible absorption spectra indicates that the encapsulted ITX and TPO
photoinitiators can efficiently absorb UV irradiation. Under exposure, the C=C bonds absorbance of the
microencapsulated TMPTA decrease rapidly, and then nearly unchanged during further exposure after
30s. It implies that the optical response is achieved by C=C bond cleavage of TMPTA monomer
initiated by the photoinitiator radicals, to work polymers in microcapsules. The relative
