Abstract: Metaphor is a pervasive phenomenon which has traditionally been
considered as a figure of speech. However, Lakoff views metaphor not merely as a
matter of language but of thinking and cognition. The essence of metaphor is to
understand and experience one kind of thing in terms of another. Metaphor is a
conceptual mapping from a source domain to a target domain. Color terms are usually
