Basic concept of refraction
The turning or bending of any wave, such as a light or sound wave, when it passes from one medium into another of different density.
The contents:
Ocular refraction
The ability of the eye to bend light so that an image is focused on the retina.
The contents:
Focal length
The distance from the surface of a lens or mirror to its focal point.

Diopter(D)
The diopter is a measure of lens power derived from the algebraic method of optical calculations.
It is defined as the reciprocal of the focal length of a lens in air measured in meters.
D=1/f (m) or D=100/f (cm)
In order to analyze the Image and Calculation of eye conveniently, we usually use
Gullstrand simplified eye
( or schematic eye of Gullstrand) .
Gullstrand simplified eye
In the reduced schematic eye, the cornea is assumed to be the only refracting surface, the principal plane (H) being placed at its apex and a single nodal point (n) at its center of curvature.
