Statue of Liberty
The statue, a gift to the United States from the people of France, is a robed  female figure representing liberty, who bears a torch . Upon the statue there  is the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A chain lies at her feet. The Statue of Liberty becomes an symbol of freedom and  welcome to the immigrants who come to the USA looking for a better life.
