for the students of plant protection
A. OBJECTIVES
● To improve students’professional English language proficiency through exercises prehension and text appreciation and promote students’abilities in reading and translating the professional English data.
● To enlarge students’ vocabulary by about 1000 words.
● To consolidate students’ knowledge in the usage of professional words, idiomatic expressions, sentence structures, collocations and other grammar items, and help students use them correctly and appropriately in translating.
● To help students work independently by emphasizing pre-class work and the use of English-English dictionaries.
   
B. ORGANIZATION
● The course will require three hours each reading material. The first two hours are devoted to the new professional words, idiomatic expressions and important language points. The third hour is devoted to the reading material: analysis of the theme, structure, style, and translate the reading material into Chinese properly.
