※1. gone, lost与missing
gone表示“丢了,没了”,含有一去不复返的意味,在句中可作表语和补语,但不能做定语。
My fever is gone, but I still have a cough. She looked down at her dress and found her necklace gone.
lost 表示“丢失”,含有失去后难以回归的意味,在句中可作定语,表语和补语。
The parents found the lost child at last. His elder brother was lost at sea.
missing表示“失踪了,不见了”,强调某人或某物不在原处,在句中可作定语,表语和补语。
My Japanese-Chinese dictionary is missing. The police are trying their best to find the missing school-girl.
2. mind
A. Vt. 照看、照管, = look after = take care of的意思。
      He promised to mind the baby while we were out.  Mind your own business!  ( 管好你自己的事情)
Vt.  mind + 名词/ 代词“介意;当心、注意”
      Mind the wet paint. (当心,油漆未干!)  Mind you don’t fall. ( 小心别跌倒。) 
      Mind, es the bus.  注意,车来了。
She didn’t mind the pain on her leg.  
mind + v-ing (不能跟不定式)
I hope you don’t mind waiting.
  B. Vi. 在乎、介意,常用于问句、否定句或条件从句,
      Do you mind if I smoke?       = Do you mind my / me smoking?
