（一）形容词、副词的最高级
构成方法
原级
最高级
单音节和少数双音节
一般在词尾加-est
tall, long, short,
old, small, fast
tallest, longest, shortest,
oldest, smallest, fastest
以字母e结尾的形容词/副词，直接加-st
nice, fine, large, close
nicest, finest,
largest, closest
以重读闭音节结尾的形容词/副词，如末尾只有一个辅音字母，应先双写该字母，再加-est
big, hot, red, thin
biggest, hottest,
reddest, thinnest
以“辅音字母加y
