文档介绍：Letter Rt Hon Norman Lamb MP Minister of State for Care and Support House mons, London SW1A 0AA Dear Minister, Better support for the families of people with learning disabilities This Learning Disability Week, the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities is campaigning to raise awareness of the plight of the families of people with learning disabilities, and I want to ask you to support their campaign. When surveyed, 78% of families said they were worried or extremely worried that there will be no one to make sure that their learning disabled son or daughter is safe and well after they ’ re gone. With this in mind, we want to support families through the difficult job of planning for the future of their children, and to minimise the enormous stress and worry that many families go through. Please read the Foundation ’s Report, which you can find at .uk/families , and show your support for the campaign by keeping their research in mind when you plan for the future of this vulnerable group. Simple resources like the Foundation ’s Thinking Ahead pack (which can be downloaded for free .uk/publications/thinking- ahead-report/ ) should be highlighted for families by their support workers. By helping the families of people with learning disabilities to plan for the future, and supporting them through this difficult task, you have the opportunity to improve the quality of life
