A low SAR Antenna Designed for WBAN Communications

An antenna system working in ISM band of GHz with EBG reflector is proposed which can be applied

to wireless body area network WBAN . The monopole antenna is used as main radiator impedance matching is

achieved through gradient feeding and ground etching slots. A 4-cell array electromagnetic band gap EBG reflector is
attached to the bottom of the antenna to improve the gain and enhance the isolation between antenna and human body.
The simulation results show that the use of EBG reflector can increase the gain and front to back
