In today’s China, there seems to exist a strange phenomenon that the rapid development of civilization doesn’t drive to death the superstition abuse. Instead, superstition still prevails in many people’s mind. They worship spirits, believe in fortune-telling, and devote themselves to fake “qi gong masters”.
There are two reasons for the phenomenon. On the one hand , in the face of more opportunities and challenges now, some people feel unbalanced and confused. Unable to get out of the trouble, they turn to invisible supernatural forces for help. On the other hand, some authorities fail to distinguish superstition from religion, and therefore the superstitious activities are not banned effectively.
If such faith goes uncontrolled, it will be a big danger to our social stability and development.
It is high time to declare war on the rising popularity of superstitious activities. Government should enforce laws to kill the disease. A
