1. Provide further research on domestic and international CBD practices, and integrate the strategic requirement for creating Jiangbei New District to further study and confirm the CBD positioning, scale and character.
SOM Reply:
Based on analysis of Nanjing’s CBDs and comparison of CBDs with cities with similar types of cities, we concluded that the proposed size and development intensity are reasonable.
SOM also further refined the city form and framework of CBD/CSD.
Creating a stronger image for CBD on the river front.
Adjusted the size of office and commercial developments to consists of more smaller size developments, making them more attractive to developers.
Created variety of retail corridors.
Refined the historic development corridor to have a stronger presence at the Yangzi Riverfront.
