When a file is deleted in Windows, it is first moved to the Recycle Bin and can be restored if needed. If, however, a file is deleted from the hard disk without being stored in the Recycle Bin ([Shift]-[Delete]), or if the user has emptied the Recycle Bin, it cannot be restored with any utility that Windows provides. When a file is deleted in the Windows environment, only the file directory information is removed from the FAT or MFT (for NTFS), which means that the file data still resides in data sectors on the hard disk drive. So, technically, the file can still be restored. FinalData uses this principle to recover data, even after the Recycle Bin has been emptied. In addition, FinalData is able to easily recover deleted files and hard disk information damaged by viruses or by accidental formatting.
