在文化方面,英语国家之间既有共同点又有差别。作为学习英语的学生,对英语国家进行了解对你的学习是非常有益的。在下面的文章中,我会试着解答你的问题。由于就人口数量来讲,英美两国是最大的英语国家,所以我会多以它们为例。希望这篇文章能对你有所启发。

Anglosphere

The term Anglosphere is sometimes used to describe a certain group of English-speaking countries. The term is somewhat controversial because there are different views on which countries belong to the group and what sort of relationship these countries have. In any case, this term is often used as an English equivalent to the French phrase “le monde anglo-saxon”.
The Anglosphere is usually thought of as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. Some argue that it also includes Ireland but others object, stating that, although it is English-speaking and was a British colony, Ireland has a Celtic, not Anglo-Saxon, heritage, is predominantly Catholic and not Protestant, and tends not to ally itself politically or militarily with other large English speaking countries.
Aside from language, Anglosphere countries are usually free market economies with similar political and legal systems. There are those who reject the idea of an Anglosphere. They cite the cultural and political differences of English-speaking countries as proof. For example, the USA is a free market economy whereas the UK is a mixed economy and a welfare state. Furthermore, political alliances do exist between these nations but they also have alliances with countries outside the Anglosphere. The Anglosphere is by no means a bloc. ①If anything, it is a group of countries loosely connected by a common language, historical events and cultural bonds.
