Additional Background Information
North Sea Oil
Today Britain has discovered 50 oil fields in the North Sea, with a reserve of billion tons. Production began in the second half of 1975 and went up gradually. In 1976 production crude oil reached million tons. It was established that by 1980 production would rise about 110 million tons. By then Britain would e self-sufficient in oil.
Container ship
A cargo vessel specially designed and built for the carriage of cargo repacked in containers. With a standardized size of container, holding 18 tons of cargo, holds and deck spaces can be designed exactly to modate container, leading to greater ease an
