II. Related Information: Reading Education
Reading education refers to activities designed to teach individuals how to apprehend the meaning of written texts. When reading a passage such as this petent readers rapidly and smoothly focus on essive groups of words and can nearly immediately summarize what those words mean. Closer analysis of the actions petent readers reveals that they rapidly convert written symbols into more familiar spoken language from which they apprehend the meaning of the text. The ponents of reading-- the former is often called decoding and the latter is often prehending--are both necessary petent reading.
